People like to wear t-shirts that are the same as everyone else.
Threadless is an online shop selling a collection of t-shirts, art prints, phone cases featuring designs sourced by a global artist community.
As an artist or designer, when you sell a t-shirt on Threadless you’ll usually make about one US dollar.
The company is clearly making much more than that.
You can increase your stock prices on Threadless but by doing so you exclude them from the Threadless store search engine. Which reduces your exposure.
Threadless has jumped the shark as its reputation for cool designs and quality have dropped.
To succeed on Threadless you should design by numbers and usually feature a talking cookie.
Threadless occasionally release the data on what their most popular search terms are. This is proof that everyone likes boring t-shirts. So much so that we created a design to trigger the top 20 search search terms and appear in all of them.
