The old tagged plinth under the bridge was neutralized by the greater city of Perth’s anti-graffiti squad recently. The golden Winston Head was left not only untouched but also painted neatly around as to not damage the sculptural integrity of the gold spray. wtf.

New Rabbit Warren at May Lane

Nice sunny day today in Sydney and what better way to spend it than gluing down a few slabs of concrete. May Lane is a great litle spot in St. Peters full of great inspiration.

As a little bit extra, it appears that Winston appeared on ‘TODAY TONIGHT’. A sensationalist news show reporting on the general over the top views of Australian councils on graffiti. It touches on the differences between mindless taggers and street artists.

As the weather warms and becomes more bearable during the wee hours, Winston army of concrete will be going up. look out for them on (not quite) all good street corners.

Also, there are a limited number of plaster guys available as part of a Co-Paint project. People who wish to participate can email me (russell [at] undenk.com) and send me a link to some of your work. Looking for some stylish creations here which will form part of a collaboration in 2009.
