New year. New Desktop

A busy year has past us

Crazy shit went down. Big politics with the Arab Spring and a series of deaths of prominent people.

People will remember the common ones. Osama, Saddam, Kim Jong, Ghadaffi. Then there was Steve Jobs. That was a load of over hype. Sure he did good things not bad but really he was just a man and Apple is nobodies friend.

So this gets me here: We Had a competition in December and received a few good entries. This one stood out. This man past away only this month. Unfortunate but expected. But fuck he went well. He wrote about his impending death, and pulled it apart to create some amazing stories and articles.

Christopher Hitchens was a man to be reckoned with and the world is better place because of his existence. Apple and Jobs pale in comparison to the insight and beliefs of this one man – His never-ending quest to rid the world of irrationality. He encouraged the world to UNDENK. to look closer, be sceptical and question everything.

With that I say Congratulations to the winner of January’s desktop design. Who’s name wanted to be kept secret for reason I dont understand. They created a desktop that if you look closer reveals a little bit more.

Bit of a show in Sydney

Sorry for the late notice but better late than never. Undenk is show some work at District01 Gallery in Sydney.

There are a few other artists exhibiting also but I will be so bold to say that undenk is the one to go for. There is a range of brand new pieces ranging from one of a kind winstons and a brand new metallic tile series. There are a few secret bargains to grab if you are quick.

Old man stencils. To be pasted and sold and hung. Limited edition of 9. Signed and numbered. Comes in a variety of colours, blue, red and orange. Look out for them on a street corner near you and in our online shop. The more I paste, the fewer I sell so there limited edition-ness goes sky rocketing. I am contemplating a burning party to destroy the stencil….. und sonst? And, what’s next?

Those in sydney should get along to may lane tomorrow night (Friday 26th) to check out the Deb (melbourne) and Minigraff (sydney) show. This will promise to bring some new and original art that is sure to impress. Minigraff has been on walkabout to the deserts of Australia (canberra) on a fact finding mission and it will be great to see what she comes back with. Deb, a melbourne based street artist, will be introducing a series of seven screen-prints, each in an edition of 50. Prints can be purchased through MAY’S.

Russ worked with plastic corflute in Sydney, Rocky experienced red tape typography in Cologne and I pasted some screenprints. Lovely transparecny.

New Rabbit Warren at May Lane

Nice sunny day today in Sydney and what better way to spend it than gluing down a few slabs of concrete. May Lane is a great litle spot in St. Peters full of great inspiration.

As a little bit extra, it appears that Winston appeared on ‘TODAY TONIGHT’. A sensationalist news show reporting on the general over the top views of Australian councils on graffiti. It touches on the differences between mindless taggers and street artists.
