Winston sightings in the new year

London based Wayne shot a few Winston’s in situ – one in a side street in Munchen near the markets, and another one in Salzburg overlooking the city in the snow.

Great placement.

A series of these posters was printed a while ago. It forms part of the postcard series – a series of postcards sprayed and scanned before being given out at reading festival in the UK. The 420mm X 594mm (A2) photographic prints have finally been framed and are available in the shop. Framed f0r $300AUD or unframed for $100AUD. Check em out here. Winston is our branded icon and has been since 1984 who can now be seen stamped, sculpted, sticked and pasted across the globe. It appeared in Cologne at the start of the millenium and was officiallyintroduced to the art world at the Berlin Kunstsalon back in 2004. His original design never changed…

The old tagged plinth under the bridge was neutralized by the greater city of Perth’s anti-graffiti squad recently. The golden Winston Head was left not only untouched but also painted neatly around as to not damage the sculptural integrity of the gold spray. wtf.
